Tarpy-Roberts Scholar Award$2,000 Applications Available in the MTA Guidance Office or Here Application Deadline: Annually on May 1 The Tarpy-Roberts Student Scholar Award is given to a graduating senior who has demonstrated extraordinary academic performance, financial need, and a strong commitment to attend an institution of higher education. Applications should be received by the Trust For Our Future Office, 50 Republic Ave, Topsham, Maine 04086, or at TFOF@link75.org, by May 1 of each calendar year. For consideration please include a cover letter, application, and Mt. Ararat High School official transcript documenting a GPA of 3.8 or higher, and a letter of acceptance from an institution of higher education. The scholarship in the amount of $2,000 will be disbursed to the awardee after completion of the awardee’s first semester at an institution of high education. Please submit an official college or university transcript to Trust For Our Future Office, 50 Republic Ave, Topsham, Maine 04086, or to TFOF@link75.org, along with your current address for disbursement of scholarship funds. Tarpy-Roberts Faculty Award$2,000 Application Here Application Deadline: Annually on May 1 The Tarpy-Roberts Faculty Award is given to one or more teachers in M.S.A.D. No. 75 who (a) have demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication and enthusiasm for the art of teaching, and (b) can identify a specific learning opportunity that, if completed, will enhance or extend his/her abilities to become an even more effective teacher in the district. Applications should be received by the Trust For Our Future Office at 50 Republic Ave, Topsham, Maine 04086, or at TFOF@link75.org by May 1 of each calendar year. For consideration please include a cover letter, application, and letter of recommendation from a supervisor which addresses your exceptional skill, dedication, and enthusiasm for the art of teaching. Include in the recommendation a statement of support of your application and proposed educational opportunity by your supervisor. The intent of the Faculty Award is to fund an educational opportunity for teachers to pursue expertise in an area of interest which, in turn, would have a direct bearing on his/her ability to offer meaningful educational opportunities to students. Educational opportunities may include, but are not limited, to the following: *Collaborative staff projects: Grade level teams, departments, and/or schools can create and submit proposals for opportunities, projects, and/or experiences for students that expand and/or extend student learning. *Community partnerships: School staff collaborate with community partners to provide opportunities, projects, and/or experiences that promote student growth and learning as well as build positive community relationships. *Collaborative Student Partnerships/Projects: Staff work with students to create proposals for innovative projects, opportunities, and/or experiences that promote inquiry, problem-solving, and innovation. The projects can be a classroom, departmental, grade level, and/or school-wide. *Collaborative School Partnerships/Projects: Schools work together to create proposals for innovative projects, opportunities, and/or experiences that can be facilitated and shared between schools.
